President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that a study that found millions of people in the United States are living below the poverty line is an insult to millions and is the result of “fake news.”
In a tweet, Trump tweeted that “Fake news media will NEVER report that the FAKE SURVEY showed the US as a very prosperous country.
The U.S. has the highest unemployment rate in the world!””
This is an insulting insult to the hard working people of the United Sates and to all the people who have struggled to make ends meet,” he said.
Trump’s tweet comes a day after he tweeted that he would announce plans to “cut taxes for everybody” and that he will “send back jobs to the U.K. and other countries.”
Trump also said that “the phony news media” will never report that he has signed a $50 billion tax bill that he said will create thousands of jobs.
Trump has also been under fire for his decision to spend millions of dollars to buy up the assets of the Trump Organization, the namesake company he founded in 1980.
The President and his administration have repeatedly accused media outlets of exaggerating and distorting the impact of Trump’s decision.
The Trump Organization spent $5 million on “fact checking” in the months before the inauguration, and it is still being used to spread fake news stories about his inauguration.
