By Paul Lukas-USA TODAY SportsThe Diamondbacks are the reigning National League champions.
They’ve won five straight and are now two games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central.
The Red Sox are coming off a wild-card spot.
They’re on pace to win 50 games, including the first two in a row.
Both teams are set to get better this week.
Here’s a look at how each team is playing right now.
The Diamondback startersThe Diamonds are on the road this week and are going through a stretch where they’re only playing two games.
The starters are pitching well.
Jose Fernandez has been great.
Adam Eaton is pitching well too.
The Red Sox have a tough schedule.
They’ll play three of the next four on the way to home games against the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.
The next three are at home against the Cardinals and Pirates.
The Twins will have to take the road to get a chance to play either the Cardinals or Pirates.
That means facing the Orioles, White Sox and Braves.
The Cubs have been playing well, but they’re at home and face the Yankees.
The Astros are also a tough test.
They travel to the Angels and Rangers for three games.
The Rockies are also coming off their home stretch, playing five games.
They face the Nationals, Pirates, Blue Jays and Orioles.
The Royals will travel to face the Dodgers, who are also at home.
The Giants are also in the mix.
The Pirates have a long road to the finish, and will be back in Texas on Friday.
The Braves have a chance for home-field advantage, but the Dodgers have a lot of games left against teams who are winning more often.
The White Sox are back at home, but will be without Miguel Gonzalez for a month after Tommy John surgery.
The Orioles have a rough road ahead.
They play three games at home vs. the Indians, Blue Birds and Orioles before they travel to Atlanta for the final two.
The Pirates are playing well.
They have the best record in baseball at 11-9.
They are playing the Braves, who they beat in the first round.
The Cardinals are playing a tough stretch, and are trying to hold on to their division title.
They will face the Braves in Atlanta and then the Reds at home for three.
The Tigers will play four of the final five games, with two at home versus the Royals and one on the west coast.
The Brewers will travel for two games in St. Paul.
The Padres will travel again this week to face Seattle and San Diego.
The Dodgers will play two games on the east coast, but it’s not a good matchup for them, as they’re playing two teams that are on a roll.
The Giants are starting to pick up steam, with the first five games at AT&T Park against the Braves and then facing the Yankees in Tampa.
The Padres will be playing at home in San Francisco.
The Angels are on track to win the division.
They beat the Marlins in the ALDS, and have a road game against the Brewers.
The Rangers are playing great right now, and they’ve been doing that with a lot more confidence than they did in September.
The bullpen is doing a great job of holding opposing pitchers to a run.
The rotation is also doing a good job.
They still have a bit of time left before they can make a run, but right now they’re the team to watch.
The Marlins are playing at a high level, but there’s still plenty of work to be done.
They must take on the Astros and Cardinals this week, before the Dodgers come to play the Pirates.
The Rockies will travel next week.
The Phillies are on top.
They won the NL East, and now have home-court advantage.
They can finish strong against the Dodgers.
The Mets are playing with a little more confidence, as their bullpen is allowing the second fewest runs in baseball.
The pitching staff is also starting to click, as Jacob deGrom is starting to look like a superstar.
The Dodgers are playing good defense and have won three straight games.
A win over the Cardinals would give them the NL West.
The Blue Jays have the first half of their schedule in hand, and face a tough challenge in the Rockies.
The Astros are coming in with a great record at 10-6, but have been blown out four times in their last six games.
Kyle Seager has been a great pitcher, but he’ll be missed after losing his starting job to Justin Verlander.
The Nationals are one of the best teams in baseball, but their defense is shaky at best.
They haven’t played well since the All-Star break, but are still a good team.
The Rays are playing like a contender, but not quite as good as everyone thinks.
They lost their starting pitcher to Tommy John Surgery.
The defense isn’t quite as solid as they used to be.
The offense isn’t as good either.
They also have
